Marketing and Partnership Manager
Colin is the Marketing and Partnership Manager for Sparticl. For more than 15 years Colin has been using his strategic and creative mind in the areas of communications, public relations, public affairs and marketing. Through consulting and agency projects, Colin has assisted more than 30 different organizations/efforts, including nonprofits, public-private partnerships and large corporate clients/trade organizations. As the primary e-strategist for a Twin Cities public relations and public affairs agency, he launched numerous websites and oversaw the implementation of several online communications and social media efforts. He has presented at Minnesota Council of Nonprofit conferences and co-founded the monthly communication networking lunches at MCN while working for an affordable housing nonprofit. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Colin is also a Cubs fan. He enjoys writing, performing and watching comedy. Colin has a bachelor’s degree in communications studies and education from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
Jolene is the Executive Editor of Sparticl. She is a communications professional with a proven track record of building engaging online experiences and effective digital teams, as well as crafting award-winning content for a variety of platforms. Prior to returning to tpt to join the Sparticl team, Jolene worked for ReelzChannel where she relocated and rebuilt the team in Albuquerque, NM. Previously, Jolene was the Interactive Content Developer and Producer at tpt where she managed the planning and development of the MN Video Vault, an online video library designed to make hundreds of programs from the TV station’s archives accessible to educators and the general public, and oversaw the launch and day-to-day operations of a new Almanac: At the Capitol website. She has also worked as a Content Developer & Producer for Discovery Communications and the United States Mint.
STEM Web Research & Communications Specialist
Matt is currently working on tpt’s new science website for teens, Sparticl.org. He coordinates the beta testing of Sparticl, analyses the site’s use statistics, and contributes to the design of Sparticl‘s architecture. He enjoys drawing together disparate experiences to inform solutions to current problems that captivate him. He is always on the lookout for people that can teach him new skills and ways of thinking. In 2011 he earned his PhD in theoretical physics. Post-graduation, he found himself drawn to opportunities to increase STEM literacy among youth. Before joining tpt in 2012, he was the Chief Scientist at Iridescent, a non-profit that helps underserved youth experience the joys of asking questions and engineering.
